Today is my 10 year wedding anniversary! Appearantly the gift to give for the 10 year mark used to be “Tin/Aluminum”. I’m glad they changed it to the modern gift of diamonds, even though I don’t really need or want any, I’m glad they updated the list, but in looking at the list, if they change the 10 year to a diamond, it seems I’ve jumped ahead to the 60 year mark. Guess the diamond industry didn’t like being so late in the game, as there really is a declining number of people who get to the 60 year wedding anniversary mark. If you ask me, the whole list is a little whacky. Where did it come from anyway?
Our plans for the day include going to Bear Lake to have a family birthday party for Mike’s Oma (German for Grandmother), she’s turning 91 I think, and then we are actually having a sitter come over this evening, and we are going out to dinner and a movie. It will be nice to get away from the kids for a short time, but we rarely have baby sitters, so there is that stress that you hope your kids are well behaved and perfect little angels. ;D Any movie recommendations?

10 Years! Nice Work! I tell ya, It is so taken for granted to have parents that stay together. What a blessing. With a God-centered relationship like you seem to have, I am not surprised one bit. Happy 10th Monica and Husband… I wish you +50 more!

Oh, man! I’m a day late and a dollar short! Kudos on the decade. What show did you end up seeing?

axion- Thanks so much for the well wishes & the years to come part! That’s what I look forward to, every new day of discovery with him beside me.
Reid- Thanks for the 50+ more years!!! Does our relationship still count as God-centered if Mike isn’t a believer? He’s agnostic…. and seemingly uninterested in discovering the power of the Cross. I know God is drawing him though… I can see glimpses of it, and I can only imagine what He is doing on the inside of his heart as he watches our kids grow and claim the love of Jesus. : )
Hey Dougie! We saw “Terminal” with Tom Hanks. It was way good! We haven’t been out to the movies since we saw “The Passion,” and that was a long while ago I think. ; ) We always say “we need to commit to doing this more often” but with young kids, it’s sometimes difficult to get a sitter, or it’s just easier to rent a movie instead : )

Congrats! We celebrated our 12th anniv. yesterday, the 27th. We also went to see Terminal!
A lovely woman that I know who is a missionary kid, married an agnostic, and she says that she clung for many years to the verse about winning him over “without a word, but with a meek and gentle spirit” and by God’s grace, he became a believer after they had been married about fifteen years. He is now an elder in a PCA church. She was a shining example of sweetness and kindness for him. May God likewise, bless your marriage.
I like this song that you are playing btw.

Thank you Michelle!!!
Also Kris, thank you, and congrats to you as well!!! I loved what you wrote on your blog about your husband Travis… “I love it when I am blinded by my concrete perspective on something, and he lifts me into his helicopter mind and takes me above the situation to see the bigger picture. Instead of seeing the tree, I finally see the whole forest.” That is the best expression, and full of life! Also, thank you for relaying the story of your friend whose dh was agnostic too. I am totally claiming 1 Pet. 3, it’s been on my heart, as has just praying boldly regarding him. In my lengthy talks with God, He has shared with me the process He is working in Mike, and I hold it high and I’m seeing it before my eyes, just as He has described it. I know that He will continue to perfect the good works He has started within Mike… and His timing is purposefull and assured!
Thank you all for the encouragement!
